Harmon Charges Late to Win Season Opener at Claremont
The 2026 New England Dwarf Car Series season kicked off Saturday night at Claremont Motorsports Park with a competitive 25-lap feature that saw a dominant early run, late-race drama, and a decisive closing stretch.
Ryan Carman made an impressive return to competition in the 08, leading the first 20 laps in his first race back in over a year. Carman controlled the pace through the early and middle portions of the event, fending off pressure while navigating traffic.
Andrew Harmon, who showed speed all day, positioned himself as the driver to beat. After setting fast time in both practice sessions and winning his heat race, Harmon steadily worked his way forward and put himself in contention as the race unfolded.
The turning point came late in the race following the second and final caution. Cody Hodgdon, who had won his heat race and was battling inside the top three, slowed on track to bring out the caution—erasing Carman’s advantage and setting up a sprint to the finish.
On the restart, Harmon capitalized. Using his speed and track position, he powered to the front in the closing laps and took control of the race to secure the victory in the season opener parking in Fabian Fuels of Dover, VT home of mount snow Victory Lane.
Carman held on for a strong runner-up finish after leading the majority of the race, while Tom Harwood completed the podium in third after rebounding from a early race spin.
Kenny Scott and Jesse Bousquet rounded out the top five.
