Harmon Hustles to Victory in the Perusse Rigging & Transportation 25 at Star Speedway
The New England Dwarf Car Series rolled into Star Speedway on Sunday, September 14th as part of the historic 60th Annual Star Classic, with a strong field of cars ready to battle in the Perusse Rigging & Transportation 25.
Heats Set the Stage
The afternoon kicked off with fast-paced heat races, where Andrew Harmon and Tom Harwood each grabbed wins to set themselves up as the ones to beat going into the feature.
Feature Action
When the green flag waved for the 25-lap main event, Chris Sullivan powered to the front, pacing the field in the early laps. Trouble struck on lap 9 when the 08x of Caden Roberts spun in turn two, bringing out the first caution of the race.
The restart shuffled the deck, with Andrew Harmon lining up in second. When the green dropped, Harmon wasted no time, blasting into the lead and pulling away. From there, he never looked back, dominating the rest of the way to park in Fabian Fuels Victory Lane, presented in part by the Town of Dover, VT.
Behind him, Tom Harwood showed his trademark consistency, methodically working his way through traffic to finish runner-up. Cody Hodgdon continued his string of strong runs, coming home third, while Jesse Bousquet flashed speed but ultimately settled for fourth. Early leader Chris Sullivan held on to round out the top five.
